Since meeting at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in 2019, José Carlos Carreiro and Torrin Williams have formed an inspiring guitar duo known for pushing boundaries between styles and eras. On March 15, 2026, they appear in concert as part of the Hague Guitar Series, performing their captivating programme Bach Reconstructed in the atmospheric Oud-Katholieke Kerk.
In this project, the duo pays tribute to Johann Sebastian Bach as seen through the lens of Romantic composers and pianists. Bach’s music is reimagined through duo arrangements based on the piano transcriptions of Ferruccio Busoni, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Camille Saint-Saëns. The result is a unique listening experience in which Baroque structure intertwines with Romantic expressivity.
Be surprised and moved by the virtuosity, synergy, and depth of this young international duo, as they cast new light on an old master in Bach Reconstructed.
