On 19 May 2019, guitarist Oman Kaminsky, winner of 34 prizes at international competitions, will perform in De Waalse Kerk in The Hague. Oman has a sound and tone projection that is virtually incomparable. During this concert, Oman Kaminsky will perform compositions by M.M. Ponce, Leo Brouwer, A. Barrios Mangoré, among others.

Originally from Mexico City, Oman Kaminsky is one of the most outstanding Mexican guitarists & leading guitarists of his generation. Oman received the “Premio Nacional de la Juventud”, a prominent prize for young talents in Mexico, from the hands of the President.
He has participated in festivals in Mexico, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Russia and the USA, and he has performed in some of the most prestigious concert-halls; the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Oman Kaminsky was a soloist with various orchestras in Mexico and the Netherlands, including the Dutch Premiere of the Concerto for two guitars and orchestra by Jana Obravska.
Oman has received more than 20 First Prize awards and in total 34 prizes in international competitions, including competitions in Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Serbia, Austria, Mexico, USA, among others.
He has been invited to serve as a member of the jury in prestigious guitar competitions, including “The Society of American Musicians” in Chicago, the National Guitar Competition in Xalapa, Mexico, and the International Guitar Competition Norba Caesarina, in Spain.
He received his Bachelor’s degree with the highest honors in the Escuela Superior de Música from the National Institute of Fine Arts, where he studied under the supervision of Isabelle Villey.
After his studies in Mexico he received his Master’s degree in guitar performance and chamber music at the “Koninklijk Conservatorium” in The Hague, the Netherlands where he studied with Maestro Zoran Dukic and early music with Ton Koopman. During his studies in The Netherlands, Oman was awarded with the prestigious “HSP Huygens scholarship”. The Dutch government gives this award only to the most outstanding students. Oman received a second master’s degree, this time in Music Pedagogy at the “Koninklijk Conservatorium”, thanks to the scholarship FONCA- CONACYT.
Currently, Oman is a guitar professor at the “Superior School of Music” of the INBA, the “School of Music” of the UNAM and the “Life and Movement School” of the Ollin Yoliztly Cultural Center in Mexico City.
